SOUTH LUANGWA, ZAMBIA
A patch of trees decimated by grazing
elephants. Over 400 miles from the capital Lusaka, and generally accessible
only by charter flight, South Luangwa National Park is one of the most
remote and untouched places on earth. Renown for its 20,000 elephants,
the park teems with wildlife: lions, giraffe, kudu, impala, baboons,
antelope, zebra, hippos, buffalo, leopards, crocodiles, hyenas and more.
